Holdridge Life Zones
A life zone is a type of landscape, such as rain forest, grassland, or desert. The Holdridge system decides which life zone a region gets, based on its temperature and rainfall. Height above sea level matters too. This is why rain forests appear in warm wet places and deserts appear in hot dry ones.
